LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- The Arkansas chapter of the AARP says it will push for $5 million more in state funding for home health care workers.
The advocacy group unveiled its legislative agenda on Monday for this year's session, including an increase in the Medicaid reimbursement rates for home care workers. The AARP said increasing the rate by about $2 per hour will cost the state $5 million annually.
The group also said it will push for a small subsidy for grandparents who have been granted legal guardianship, a state Housing Trust Fund to pay for affordable housing and an alert system for seniors with Alzheimer's and other disorders who have become lost.
