All four of the major candidates running for governor of Louisiana have committed to a forum in Shreveport on Thursday, Oct. 4.
Bobby Jindal, Walter Boasso, John Georges and Foster Campbell will answer questions specific to Northwest Louisiana from 7 - 8 p.m. at the LSUS University Center Theater.
"One of these candidates will be our next governor," says Sponsor Committee Chairman Harold Turner, representing the Committee of 100.
"We are pleased that they understand the importance of northwest Louisiana to the state and have made time on their schedules to come answer some very tough questions."
Forum sponsors include the Committee of 100 (Northwest Louisiana), LSU-Shreveport, Southern University-Shreveport, the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, Bossier Economic Development Foundation, African American Chamber of Commerce, Tuesday Morning Breakfast Group and Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce.
Red River Radio will be carrying the forum live on 89.9 FM and KTBS-TV will televise the forum on either KTBS or the KTBS 24 Hour News Channel and will re-air at a later date.
"Northwest Louisiana has questions that need to be answered and these questions will not be asked in any other forum around the state. This forum is specifically for us," says Turner.
"The candidates will be facing each other for only three debates and we are one of them. This is our opportunity to critique and compare which candidate would be best for northwest Louisiana and the state."
Those who are interested in watching the forum in person are invited to attend.
The event is free and open to the public.
