SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- A Latino advocacy group is suing the Texas Democratic Party over the way delegates are being allocated through its complicated primary and caucus system.
LULAC filed a federal voting rights lawsuit in San Antonio, but it is not seeking to stop the seating of Texas delegates for now.
LULAC's lawyers said the suit could, however, force a reallocation of the caucus delegates.
Texas allocates its delegates based on a primary and then a caucus.
The caucus is designed to reward loyal Democratic voters, but Attorney Luis Vera Jr. said Latino districts were hurt in the March 4 vote.
Those districts more heavily favored Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama.
