UNDATED (AP) -- A superdelegate and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee says the race for the party's presidential nomination is over, as he sees it. And he says it's up to challenger Hillary Rodham Clinton to decide when to withdraw.
Former Colorado Governor Roy Romer tells reporters in a conference call that, in his words, "There is a time we need to end it and direct ourselves to the general election." He added, "I think that time is now."
Romer says he's throwing his support behind Barack Obama. He's among four superdelegates announcing their endorsements of the Illinois senator Tuesday.
