GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry said today he plans to run for re-election in 2010.

Perry made the statement during a break in a Republican Governors Association forum.

Perry will be the longest-serving governor in Texas history later this year. He took over for George W. Bush after Bush was elected president in 2000.
